Multimedia Programs and Seasongood

Youth Programs has benefited greatly from our donors  and parental/guardian support. One of the many things we boast about is providing youth with an opportunity to explore various career paths and experience in service. Various Donor love this aspect about Youth Programs and they give financial support for these programs. Our Youth Alive (YA!) and Youth Advisory Council (YAC) are excellent examples of leadership, college readiness and community engagement. We are reintroducing [Multimedia Programs] and [Seasongood]

We have introduced a [Video and Editing Program] now named [Multimedia Programs] to help youth interested in filming, editing or production of video. The videos/films produced by this group are tasked to create videos to highlight Youth Programs so we can show our donors, potential donors , new potential youth and their families what youth programs is all about. Family Night is an event where we can showcase the youth in the program and give interested youth, families and donors a snap shot into Youth Programs.

This announcement below is from one of the youth involved in Multimedia Programs:

Attention all youth. As you know, our annual Family Night event is fast approaching and we need your help. We are putting together an informational video, that we will show to the families and potential sponsors in attendance on Family Night.

We are asking that:
·         Youth please send in all pictures or videos that you have from Youth Programs trips and events. An email with instructions as to how to do that will follow. If anyone is interested in joining the Multimedia Program, please contact Mr. Calvin at charper@cincymuseum.org .
·         People who will be willing to act in the video, and or help in the production of it let Mr. Calvin know.

For those of you that are busy with extracurricular activities but want to share your input please send in any ideas that you have for the video. Please do this as soon as possible our next meeting is January 10, 2015 at 12pm in Youthville.

Seasongood Good Government Internship

Seasongood is an internship sponsored by the Murray and Agnes Seasongood Good Government Foundation. They have given us a financial sponsorship to allow youth to explore topics that impact them and explore topics that impact everyone: Race Relations, Neighborhood Issues, City, State, Regional and National Political and Governmental issues, Law, and Social Justice.

The youth will be involved in discussions on matters that affect them. Explore the:
·         Issues
·         possible fixes
·         next steps and how to make a difference

For those of that like to debate and talk about anything and everything this is opportunity for you.
  • The commitment is from January 2015 to October 2015. Meetings will be once a month, the second Wednesday of every month from 5 to 6. Additional dates (if necessary) will be determined, and will be communicated in advance.
  • Communication is going to be key. One of the opportunities you will have through this internship is to meet people that are working in fields that pertain to your chosen project. When they are invited to come meet with you at CMC, we want to ensure that most of you, if not all of you, are available during that time. If you know you cannot make a meeting, please let us know as much in advance as possible (although we understand that things to happen or come up). That way we give guest speakers plenty of notice to reschedule.
  • Communication goes both ways! We will be using e-mail, Google Docs, and phone calls/texts to remind you about upcoming meetings, as well as other opportunities that may come up either here at CMC or outside (like council meetings and such). Parents/guardians, if there ever concerns about transportation to outside meetings, please let us know. We will have a roster for the group with parents/guardians information to arrange carpools if necessary.

Our first meeting on the year will take place on Wednesday, January 14th from 4 to 5 pm. Please let Ms. Isabelle ikalubi@cincymuseum.org know that you will be there.
