STEM Girls Lecture: Meet Astronaut Mae Jemison (spots filled)
Date: Thursday April 5
Time: 5:30pm-8:00pm
Location: Cintas Center at Xavier University
Meet first black woman astronaut Mae Jemison and attend the lecture that follows.

YA! Event: Police Academy Career Shadow
Date: Monday April 23
Time: 7pm-8pm
Location: Cincinnati Police Academy: 800 Evans Street, Cincinnati, OH 45204

This has been rescheduled due to the snow day on the original date. Youth Alive career exploration event benefiting Youth Programs and planned by our very own Eva! We will recieve a special tour of the Police Academy. It will be an informative and fun opportunity to learn about this career field. Remember that transportation is not provided by YP staff to local Youth Alive events but YP staff will chaperone from start to finish. Please RSVP by emailing youthprograms@cincymuseum.org by Wednesday April 18.

MAY
STARTING SATURDAY MAY 5: All DECM youth will return to working at the Duke Energy Children's Museum at Union Terminal. MNHS and CHM youth will continue to work at the Cincinnati Art Museum. Those who attended the Cross Trainings will be contacted individually about how to proceed with working in multiple museums.

2nd Annual Best Buy Technology Expo (please RSVP to this awesome event!)
Date: Wednesday May 2
Time: 4-6pm
Location:Lincoln Recreation Center

Best Buy and CMC staff come together to support exploration, fun, and learning at multiple event stations during the evening, showcasing some of Best Buy's best 21st century technology! Friends and family of youth welcome. This event is not mandatory, but it will be a lot of fun so please take advantage of this cool partnership with Best Buy. RSVP with the number of people you plan to bring by emailing youthprograms@cincymuseum.org by end of the day April 18.

DECM Supplemental Training (mandatory for DECM youth only)
Date: Thursday May 3
Time: 4:30-5:30pm
Location: Duke Energy Children's Museum (yay!)
Mandatory for all Children's youth. We will be receiving important updated exhibit and safety information.

Volunteer at the Flying Pig Marathon Health Expo and support Cincinnati Museum Center!

Time:  9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Location:  Duke Energy Center, 525 Elm St, Cincinnati, OH 

What:  Assist with distributing packets, posters, t-shirts and other items to the race participants, lend a hand in the merchandise section and other exciting expo activities

Who:  Anyone is welcome
Minimum age:  14 years old

Wear: Uniform and badge

How do I register?

1.       Find and select Cincinnati Museum Center from the Group list

1.       Complete Required Volunteer Information

1.       Use cincymuseum as the group password when asked near the end of the form

Volunteer registration deadline:  April 27

Not only is this a FUN event, but the Flying Pig will donate funds to Cincinnati Museum Center, depending on the # of volunteer participants we have.  Sign up and encourage your friends and family members to register, as well! 

Museum Camp Youth Applications
Museum Camp Youth assist with supervision of campers at the Cincinnati Museum Center and help instructors lead games, read stories, set up classrooms, etc. More details on time commitment in the application (see under Current Documents).

Essays are due to youthprograms@cincymuseum.org by Sunday May 6 to be considered.


Paid Youth Positions
Youth Programs Staff will be accepting resumes and cover letters to be considered for Paid Youth positions until Wednesday, May 9.
