DECM at Cincinnati Art Museum
Date: January 1, 2018-Spring 2018
Location: Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM)

Starting in the new year, all Duke Energy Children's Museum (DECM) youth will work at the Cincinnati Art Museum alongside MNHS and CHM youth. This is temporary until the Children's Museum reopens in Spring 2018. Union Terminal will be completely closed for construction. There will be no access to the building.

Shift times for All Youth (DECM, MNHS, CHM) at Cincinnati Art Museum:
Early Shift: 10:45am-4:00pm
Late Shift: 11:45am-4:00pm
NOTE: all shifts end at 4pm

DECM shifts in December are still at Union Terminal.

New Youth Applications will be posted for you to share with any friend, family or community members who might be interested in joining Youth Programs! Application deadline is to be determined, but will be late February or early March 2018.

Thank you to everyone who attended the recent CAM trainings. We know that it was not easy to accommodate with exam schedules and upcoming holidays. To clarify, the objective of those trainings was:

1.  To familiarize Children's Museum youth with how the Art Museum works
2. To allow an opportunity for experienced youth to show others what they know
3. For all youth to become generally familiar with the core demonstrations that will be run at the Cincinnati Art Museum during the temporary museum closures. 

In collaboration with Museum experts, Youth Programs Staff is now offering additional (optional) trainings for those who are interested in participating in the Cross Training Process. Cross Training is the ability to work in multiple museums. 

What is Cross Training?:

• Youth who are cross trained will be able to work in multiple museums when renovations are complete. DECM is scheduled to reopen in Spring 2018. CHM and MNHS are scheduled to reopen in Fall 2018.
• Youth who are cross trained must maintain hours in their 'home' museum before requesting to work in their secondary or tertiary museums. 
• Requests to work outside of 'home' museum will be approved based on staffing needs. 

To Participate in Cross Training, you must meet the following requirements (subject to change):

• Passed Ground Phase
• DECM Youth- this means you took and passed the Ground Phase test. Please contact Youth Programs if you are uncertain if you meet this qualification. 
• MNHS&CHM Youth- this means you are through Red Phase (surveys and greeting). You may not realize that we have been watching you and that you are through this phase. Please contact Youth Programs to verify with us if you meet this qualification. 
• You must attend the training for additional museums you are interested in working in. 
• We are only offering these dates at this time. Other opportunities will be offered periodically in the future. 
• You must pass formal evaluation by Museum staff during the training. 
• You cannot simply attend the training and not be actively engaged in learning the content. Museum staff will evaluate you.
