New Youth Essays
Help For New Youth Working on Essays
We have realized that it is difficult for you all to write about exhibits that you might not have seen yet in Natural History and in History. When writing your essays, think about the demos that you have shadowed while at the Art Museum. These demos include: Natural History- Native American Tools, Optical Illusions, Color Mixing, Ozo Bots, and Mineral ID. History- Cincy Parks, Rookwood Pottery, Union Terminal Mosaics, Twine to Tapestry, Wilderness Tracking, and Trench Art. Some of these demos you have seen in action, so you are aware of the type of information that is discussed with guests.
You also went to a training with some former Natural History and History staff members that went through the former lay out of the museums and what each one had to offer. Unfortunately, we do not yet have access to the History powerpoint that was shared, but we do have the Natural History powerpoint. This powerpoint is located in the current documents tab. If you remember anything about the former museums, you can write about the different areas that make you excited to work in either of those museums. Also under the current documents is a list of the different areas that used to be in both museums to help you out.
If you are struggling to come up with ideas of what to write in your essays, talk to a current youth and ask them to describe what their favorite part of the museum was. If you need help structuring your essay, email us and let us know. Your essays are due on July 12th! Good luck!
