May Information

  • June Schedule Requests are due on May 15th. They can be found on the blog under "Current Documents" or in Youthville. New youth shadowing begins on June 12 and we will need as many current youth as possible on the floor to ensure that our new youth have a good shadowing experience.
  • Please be sure that you have taken the time to log on to www.myvolunteerpage.com. An e-mail was sent after March Omni about how to log on and what information you will need to update. Continue to submit your schedule via e-mail or in Youthville until further notice. If you are having issues logging in, please e-mail Youth Programs detailing what the issue is so that we can forward it on to the MVP staff.
  • CHM YOUTH - The day trip is tomorrow from 9am to 5pm. Please be sure to be at CMC at 9am in order to be on time to take the bus downtown. You will have to bring a lunch and money (if you would like) for the Cincy Cinco Festival.
  • DECM YOUTH - Mandatory Supplemental Training on May 3rd from 10-1. Please be sure to contact Youth Programs if you will not be in attendance.
  • REMINDER - Seasongood Civic Engagement Internship will be meeting on Wednesday, May 13 from 5 to 6pm in the North Volunteer Lounge.
  • New Youth Orientation will be taking place on May 16, 30, 31. Any youth who are interested in assisting with orientation should let Youth Programs staff know ASAP so we can make adjustments to your schedule. Helping out with orientation means that you must be engaging with the new youth and assist staff with activities.
  • The Annual Awards and Recognition Banquet will be on June 11 from 6 to 9pm. Please RSVP by May 31st with your name and number in your party.
  • Preshift begins on Friday, June 12. This means that your shifts begin at 10:30, 11:30 or 12:30. Any arrival after those times you will be considered late.
  • Free Fridays are back! The dates for Free Friday are June 12, July 24, August 21, September 11 and October 23. Free Fridays take place from 4 to 8pm. While paid youth are required to work 2 Free Fridays a summer, all youth who are available to volunteer on those days should sign up to work as well!
  • MNHS YOUTH - Bugfest is coming up on June 6. Museum staff have asked for extra help for setup on Friday, June 5 from 3 to 5 and extra help on the floor June 6. Please keep this in mind when making your June schedules.
  • This year's big summer trip is to...BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS!!! The trip will take place from Tuesday, June 16 to Sunday, June 21. We will have the chance to visit famous historical sites in Boston as well as spend time at the Boston Children's Museum, the Museum of Science and go on a marine biology excursion in Newport, Rhode Island. We are also planning to visit Harvard, MIT, Brown, RISD as well as other cultural experiences. Applications will be available on the blog and in Youthville.   • As the school year is coming to an end, please be sure to turn in your 2nd semester grades at the end of the school year, either via e-mail, fax, or to a Youth Programs staff member.
  • CHM YOUTH - Mandatory Supplemental Training on June 28 from 10-1. Please be sure to contact Youth Programs if you will not be in attendance.
  • SENIORS - Please be sure to send in your senior speeches,bios,and information sheets ASAP. 
  • If you are interested in writing a letter to a graduating senior, please contact Youth Programs Staff so that we can be sure that all of our seniors will have a letter at the Banquet.
